Skywatch Friday

I have been soooo excited about this week's SkyWatch Friday!  We've had awesome weather, and we spent quite a bit of time outside.  That, of course, leads to great Photo Time.  Without further ado...

There are acres of woods behind our apartment, and it's not uncommon to see hawks soaring over the trees.  Last Saturday there were three or four of them, and it was awesome to watch them with the daylight moon backdrop!  (All of these are SOOC except for the first one.)

These two guys were just hangin' out in a tree at the entrance to the playground... I don't know what it is, but every time I look at this photo, I try to imagine what joke the one on the left is telling the other.

My Girls playing at the playground (we were actually at the playground while I got all of the previous shots).

And this last one... hallelujah, Spring is coming!
Yes, it is the middle of February (this one was taken February 16)
But I found a tree that has blossomed!  It's been in the seventies this week.  Poor flowers, they won't last long, it's still getting close to freezing at night.  But they did give me a much needed taste of Spring.

Now take a moment and explore the world, SkyWatch Wise!

  1. How exciting to capture those birds in flight! Great photos.

  2. Hi, Thanks for your comment on my SkyWatch. I enjoyed your assortment of sky photos. My favorite was of the blooms. Your girls look like sweeties. How far apart are they in age? Our grandson, who turned 3 in January will have a brother in April. It's hard to imagine loving another grandchild as much as we love him, but I'm sure we will.

You live in an area I would love to move to if we could take all of our family members with us, and could afford to live there. We spent a night in Raleigh on our way to the Outer Banks June of 2007. We live in Nebraska, and I had been longing to see an ocean. We had an awesome time.

  3. all your shots...:) oh my, pink blossoms...lovely!

Hope you can take a peek at my SkyWatch Friday entry as well. Thanks!

  4. Wonderful with the sky and birds together.
Cute kids too:-) The spring is a long way from here in Norway.
    Wish you a happy weekend!

  5. Lovely shots. I reckon the doves were saying.....Do you know the one about the human with two kids at the playground........
