Photo Challenge-- The Happiness Project, Thankful, and Touch Up Tuesday

Photobucket

Happiness is tangled up in these two pairs of legs.
And I am oh, so thankful.

Wanna see this photo SOOC (Straight Out Of the Camera)?
Well, okay, it was a jumble of pattern and color.  Not a planned photo at all, they were in their jammies covered in a big warm comforter(well, one of them was, at least).
Touch Up Tuesday's at the Paper MamaAll this pattern took away from the focus.  My girls.  So I uploaded to photobucket, transformed it to black and white, and then brought back their skin through color effects.  So much better!

Do you like snapping photos as much as I do?  You can also participate in these challenges!  If you want to participate in these three, just click on their button above.

Ashley at Ramblings and Photos also has a most awesome list of challenges.  Seriously, you could do a different one everyday.  And it looks like I'm attempting that! (As if I didn't have anything else to do...)

Photo Hunt Challenge- November 2010

Home Sweet Home
Having moved to Winston-Salem from New York when I was a kid, it took me a looong time consider it "home". This skyline has evolved a lot in the last twenty-eight years, but it now gives me that "I'm Home" feeling when it comes into view.

Thankful
I'm thankful for my family.  I'm thankful that my girls love each other and can fall asleep in the same bed head to feet without kicking each other.

Family
My family is ready for the "Big Visit"!

I Ate This

Seriously, y'all.  This is what I look forward to all day.  A piece of White Christmas Pie (an old family recipe) and a piece of Cherry Pie.  They must be on the same plate, they must be touching.  Yum, yum yum yum yum.
A Turkey
In the top left, we've got the tofurkey, below that is the sweet potato casserole, then the broccoli casserole.  And, it looks like the turkey is just about ready to come out of the oven!

Something Handmade
Since I make handmade jewelry, this seemed like an easy task.  However, I like my daughter's HANDmade turkey better!

Something Hot

Something Cold
Brrrr..... I scraped the word COLD into the frost on my windshield!
Something Orange

Anything Goes
Be sure to get out and spend some time playing in the leaves with your children.  If you don't have children, or your own children are too young or too old, borrow some.  To play in the colorful, crackling, crunchy leaves with children is such a joy!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday-- 11/28/10

My latest digital scavenger hunt!  Enjoy!

Black and White/Shadow Shot
I love the pattern of the shadow on this pedestrian bridge!

I Ate This
Well, technically, the only thing I ate is the turkey... (the mashed potatoes and stuffing were cooked earlier)
I was saving room for this!
Seriously, y'all.  This is what I look forward to all day.  A piece of White Christmas Pie (an old family recipe) and a piece of Cherry Pie.  They must be on the same plate, they must be touching.  Yum, yum yum yum yum.

Historic/Color Splash
This one room schoolhouse sits at the entrance to our favorite park!  You can read more about the schoolhouse here

Off-Center

The trunk of this tree starts out front and center, and ends up... not.

The End

My two-year-old daughter, at the end of the day.  She loves this Popeye doll.   I didn't realize until now that he looks just a little creepy beside her.

Want to participate, too?  Click on the "Scavenger Hunt Sunday" button in the right column!  You can also link to the other participants there, and see their interpretations.

Playing in the Leaves

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
-  Albert Camus

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Be sure to get out and spend some time playing in the leaves with your children.  If you don't have children, or your own children are too young or too old, borrow some.  To play in the colorful, crackling, crunchy leaves with children is such a joy!

"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house.
So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air." -  Nathaniel Hawthorne

Plus, you can work off some of that turkey you just stuffed yourself with!

Now get out and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

November Blog Carnival

A benefit to being part of the EtsyBloggers Team is that I get "built in" ideas about things to blog about.  That's a win-win for you and me!  I'm excited to answer this month's questions, because lately I've been trying a couple of new things.

1) What is always inspiring you for your shops, your works, or anything in your life??  More than anything else, my two daughters inspire me.  They don't give me creative inspiration, but they inspire me to do better, to push harder, to keep trying.  To do my best, and be my best and always live my life as an example for them.
Truthfully, they do give me creative inspiration, in a roundabout sort of way.  I starting creating soulenergy jewelry when my older daughter was four and my younger was just a few months old.  It was a way for me to relax, to reconnect with myself after they went to bed.  I got so much enjoyment from the simple beading process. Starting with a bag of glass and wire, ending up with a beautiful piece. soulenergy is what it gave me, and soulenergy is what it became. When I wear a piece of my jewelry, it touches me.  soulenergy is "jewelry that makes you feel beautiful from the outside, in."

2) What item are you working on?? What is your inspiration for this piece??
While the beading was wonderful for my soul for several years, as I expand my Etsy shop and spread my wings throughout the internet world, I've also expanded my favorite materials.  Oh, the basics are the same for me, I still love to work with wire, but now I'm also working on rings and pendants.  I've made fun rings to match the bracelets, and I've also had a really fun time making Holiday Jingle Bell rings.  I'm also wire wrapping stones, and I can see myself sticking with this for a while.  I love finding stones with natural beauty, and wrapping them rough, uncut and unpolished.  Copper is my wire of choice, and I've been attaching hemp cords handbraided by me.  I love love love the look!

These are a few of the wire wrapped pendants that are being sold at the Cornelius (NC) Arts Center

Here a couple more of my favorite pieces!  Both are available in my shop.

How would you answer those two questions?  If you can make it short, please leave a comment!  If you can't make it short (like me!), feel free to use these questions as inspiration for your own blog post and leave a link.  I'd love to hear your story!

Happy Thanksgiving!  Eat well, be merry, be safe, and be thankful.
