Readers Are Leaders!

I grew up hearing this quote from my parents, and my children are growing up hearing it from me!  My younger daughter (above), who is two, is "reading" to herself before going to sleep...

And my older daughter (below), who is six, has read herself to sleep...

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.  ~Anna Quindlen, "Enough Bookshelves," New York Times, 7 August 1991
TV.  If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they'll have with twenty-six.  Open your child's imagination.  Open a book.  ~Author Unknown

  1. So cute that she fell asleep with the book on top of her!

  2. This is so funny and cute. My daughter is just learning to read (she just turned four) but she pretends to read books all the time, making up stories as she looks through the pictures. I love listening to her!

  3. So so cute! That first picture is adorable. Thanks for linking up!
